[IFA 2015] Being able to bring together both power and style onto a single device can be quite a challenge, but this is one challenge that the folks over at Acer are more than willing to meet. In fact, they have come up with their latest range of Aspire V Nitro Series notebooks, which will see support for the latest USB 3.1 Type-C port thrown into the mix, with the “Black Edition” Aspire V Nitro models supporting Thunderbolt 3 that will see Thunderbolt capability arrive on USB Type-C at mind boggling speeds of up to 40Gbps.
Regardless of which particular model that you decide on, all of them will come with Qualcomm VIVE 2×2 802.11ac Wi-Fi, which theoretically speaking, paves the way for up to triple the download speed as opposed to competing products.
Sixth generation Intel Core processors will run proceedings from underneath the hood to make sure that you do not run out of steam when you need it the most, and it will also support up to 32GB DDR4 system memory, accompanied by NVIDIA GeForce graphics, and SATA III SSD/SSHD/HDD storage options.
The new “Black Edition” models will pack more muscle, thanks to the inclusion of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX960M graphics chipset that has up to 4GB GDDR5 graphics RAM, and lightning-fast NVMe PCIe SSDs. The hardware has also been refreshed for this 2015 range, where it includes a neat-cut corner design and a breakthrough slot-antenna design. The Acer Aspire V 17 Nitro will arrive in North America this October at a starting price of $1,099, while the smaller Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro will also hit the US next month at a slightly more affordable price point of $999.
