Honda today unveiled its much awaited 10th generation 2016 Civic Sedan in the United States, it will go on sale in the country this fall. According to the company this new car has a more athletic stance and a sportier driving position, it has been designed from the ground up to “recapture the sporty character of Civic,” all that’s well and good, but we’re more interested in the fact that it has supported for Android Auto and CarPlay both.
As many of you would be aware by now Android Auto and CarPlay are smart infotainment systems from Google and Apple respectively, they aim to make it much safer for drivers to access things that they would normally access while they’re driving, aside from expanding the footprint of Android and iOS to the car.
Many car manufacturers had committed to support these infotainment systems when they were first announced but they made us wait for well over a year since the implementation had to come with newer models.
Those who would like to have Android Auto or CarPlay in their older models do have an option available to them, companies like Kenwood and Pioneer have already released head units that support both systems.
Honda will be producing Civic sedans for North America its its plants in Greensburg, Indiana and Alliston, Ontario, Canada. It will go on sale this fall.
