Xiaomi Unveils Redmi Note 2 In China

As it stands, Xiaomi is the top smartphone company in China and it looks like they are not slowing down. The company has recently announced a new phone in the form of the Redmi Note 2, along with MIUI 7, which is basically the company’s take on Android. So starting with the Redmi Note 2, what can we expect from the device?

According to Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 2 is essentially the successor to the Redmi Note from 2014. It will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display and under the hood, it will be powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz for the 16GB model, and 2.2GHz for the 32GB model.

There will be 2GB of RAM accompanying the device and from what we know, there will be support for removable storage such as microSD, just in case 16/32GB isn’t enough for you guys. There will be a 13MP rear-facing camera with phase detection AF, a 5MP front-facing camera, and there will be a 3,060mAh battery to top it off.

The Redmi Note 2 will also be priced at $125 for the 16GB model, and $155 for the 32GB model. These are extremely affordable prices and will no doubt see a lot of customers flock to it, especially in the face of China’s declining economy.
