As you can see in the graph above, Windows 10 is currently on a pretty steady rise and actually accounts for 2.47% of the entire OS market. Now some of you might think that 2.47% is only a fraction of the market, but as you can see in the graph it is climbing pretty quickly. In fact despite it being less than a week old, Windows 10 has since outpaced Windows Vista, Chrome OS, and Linux.
Based on the way it is climbing, it is expected that in the next week or so it should have no problems eclipsing Windows 8, and maybe in the next month it could have even caught up to Apple’s OS X platform, which from what we can see seems to be on a downwards trajectory. We expect that it will be some time before Windows 10 will catchup or even overtake the likes of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, but so far so good.
Thanks to the relatively easy upgrading process and the fact that it is free for owners of genuine copies of Windows 7/8/8.1, it isn’t a surprise to see it catching on so quickly. In the meantime for those of you who are eager, remember there are scam emails making their rounds so avoid them and wait for Microsoft to notify you when your upgrade is ready.
