A couple of years ago, a tiny Bluetooth dongle called Tile was launched. The idea of Tile is for it to act as a tracker, allowing you to clip it onto anything like a bag, your wallet, onto your kids, onto keys, onto pets, and more, thus allowing you to keep track of things and be notified when it is out of range or missing.
It’s a pretty simple device but its creators have decided that it is about time that its hardware be refreshed, and that’s what they did by launching the second-generation Tile Bluetooth dongle. Among the changes include increasing its volume by three times, making it easier for you to hear/locate missing items that Tile is attached to.
There is also a new Find Your Phone feature that allows you to ring your device as long as it is within 100 feet of Tile, and it will work even if the phone is on silent or vibrate. It can also turn your smartphone into a virtual tile via the updated app, and if you don’t have the app, you can also look for your missing device via its web interface.
Now for those who are wondering how much it costs, it will be priced at $25 for a single Tile. However if you were to purchase multiple Tiles, its cost will decrease. For example a pack of four will be priced at $70 instead of $100. The device will be available for purchase via T-Mobile, Amazon, or via its official website.
