So last month Blizzard announced the latest Hearthstone expansion in the form of The Grand Tournament. The expansion takes inspiration from the Argent Tournament in Icecrown in World of Warcraft and as expected, will introduce a host of new cards and mechanics that are in line with the theme.
However the question is when will the game be released? For those eager to get their hands on the latest cards, you might be interested to learn that Blizzard has confirmed the release date of the game, which has been set for the 24th of August which is in less than a week’s time. The expansion will feature 132 new cards and gamers who want to get in on the action can still pre-order the packets.
They are priced at $50 for 50 packets and those who pre-order will get a special and exclusive card back that will only be available for pre-orders, so if you miss out on that, that’s it we suppose. The Grand Tournament will be the latest expansion for the game, a game which last we heard was making Blizzard $20 million a month.
However at the same time due to Apple and Google’s app stores taking a 30% cut from in-app purchases, it is said that despite making so much money, the mobile versions of the game could actually be costing Blizzard a lot more than they’d like.
