For those who are looking forward to seeing how the Tesla Model X SUV will fare compared to more traditional SUVs from other carmakers, you won’t have to wait much longer. It has recently been revealed that the company’s electric SUV will be launched in September. This was confirmed during Tesla’s quarterly shareholder letter.
According to Tesla, “As we prepare to launch Model X in September, we are building more validation vehicles, executing final engineering and testing work, enabling our new manufacturing equipment and finalizing arrangements with our suppliers.” The vehicle will be built at Tesla’s California factory alongside the Model S.
However Tesla notes that if any production difficulties were to arise, it could also impact the production of the Model S, but according to the company’s CEO Elon Musk, it could be worth the wait. Speaking during Tesla’s earnings call, Musk was quoted as saying, “The Model X is a particularly hard car to build. Maybe the hardest car in the world to build. I think it’s going to blow people away.”
