Soundcloud is a very popular online destination for music, it has a massive community that also contributes its own remixes and variations on tracks by popular artists. Those who frequently use this service will appreciate the fact that it now has support for Google Cast, this means that they can wirelessly beam their music to audio devices around their home which are compatible with Google Cast.
Google Cast was announced earlier this year, it’s basically Chromecast for music. It uses the same technology behind Chromecast only that it works with speakers made by third-party OEMs such as LG, Denon and Sony.
To play their tunes on a Cast-enabled speaker users simply need to tap the cast button in the music app running on their smartphone and they’re good to go. The handset is free to perform other tasks because Cast-enabled speakers are capable of pulling music directly from the cloud.
Soundcloud’s app has now been updated with support for Google Cast, so users can blast tunes from this app on their Cast setup. Other popular music services like iHeartRadio, NPR One, Google Play Music, Deezer, Pandora and many others already support Google Cast. There are many products available now that take advantage of this feature including the new curved soundbar from LG.
