In just a few hours from now Samsung is going to unveil two new handsets that fans have been anxiously waiting for. Much has already been written and said about the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ yet there’s no concrete information about when these devices will actually come to market. A report out of Korea claims that at least pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will start from August 20th in South Korea.
A Samsung official quoted in the report from Korea Times says that smartphone sales are going to rise during the third quarter, adding that Samsung will have a “flexible” pricing strategy influenced by market situations. The company has already cut prices of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge to retain sales momentum.
It’s further said that all three major carriers in South Korea which include LG Uplus, KT and SK Telecom are going to start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 Edge+ starting August 20th, possibly a full day before pre-orders for the device go live in other markets across the globe.
Samsung has obviously said nothing about pricing or availability up till now and with the event merely hours away we can’t expect the company to come out with a response. Fortunately we don’t have to wait for too long to find out for sure.
