Samsung Responds To Galaxy Note 5 S Pen Woes

Earlier today a video from Android Police was posted online which demonstrated that inserting the S Pen into the Galaxy Note 5 the wrong way could potentially damage your device. It might not seem like a big deal, but there have been several who have lambasted Samsung for what they feel is a design flaw, and that the S Pen should not be allowed to be inserted into the phone the wrong way so easily.

That being said, Samsung has since issued a response to the perceived problem in which they say, “We highly recommend our Galaxy Note 5 users follow the instructions in the user guide to ensure they do not experience such an unexpected scenario caused by reinserting the S-Pen in the other way around.” Basically what they’re saying is read the manual before using your phone.

It seems like a pretty fair response but to be honest, how many of us actually bothers with the manual for the majority of our gadgets these days anyway? That being said, the manual does clearly note that the S Pen inserted the wrong way could damage your phone, so it’s not as if Samsung did not warn its customers beforehand.

According to Vijay Michalik, an analyst for Frost & Sullivan who spoke to the BBC, “It seems like the sort of thing that shouldn’t be overlooked. If they lose their brand equity by pushing out these sub-standard handsets then that could be disastrous for them.” In any case this issue does not detract from the fact that the Note 5 is a pretty good device, but it should be worth taking note of especially if you’re a huge S Pen user.
