Samsung has an event lined up for next month where it’s going to unveil the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+, both handsets will be officially announced at the Unpacked event on August 13th. There have already been many leaks and reports related to this device, today we have a reddit user providing us with the first hands-on impression of both handsets.
Redditor joelrtaveras claims that he got to play around with the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ for a brief time because a Samsung representative came to his retail location.
He says that the dual-curved back of the Galaxy Note 5 really shrinks down the size of the device once it’s in the hand which makes it much more comfortable to use for extended periods of time. Super AMOLED display is said to look great “especially on the curved screen of the S6 Edge+.”
The redditor also lays to rest rumors that the handsets have a microSD card slot or that their base models have 64GB of storage, the base model still has 32GB of storage and that’s it because there’s no microSD card slot.
It’s also said that the Galaxy S6 Edge+ has Apps Edge feature like the Galaxy Note Edge which would certainly make the dual-edge curved display on this handset much more useful than it is on the Galaxy S6 Edge.
When compared against the iPhone 6 Plus the Galaxy Note 5 is slightly thicker says the redditor, adding that it’s shorter in height, narrower in width and has much better weight distribution because in his view that iPhone 6 Plus is a bit top heavy.
Last but not least he ends the debate surrounding Galaxy Note 5’s S Pen, saying that it doesn’t have auto-eject, instead users will have to push the S Pen to pop it out.
