Grand Theft Auto 5 on PC provided gamers with a feature that wasn’t available on consoles, the feature is called Rockstar Editor, it allows them to record, edit and share videos created with in-game footage. It has now been confirmed through that Rockstar Editor for PS4 and Xbox One is coming with the next update for GTA Online, Rockstar confirmed this in a blog post announcing the winner of its Ill Gotten Gains Rockstar Edit Contest.
It is mentioned in the blog post that the next Rockstar Editor contest will be the first one to accept entries across all three platforms because by then Rockstar Editor will already have arrived on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with the next update for Grand Theft Auto 5 and GTA Online.
Rockstar Editor is a powerful tool to create great videos from in-game footage, it even features tools such as different camera modes and filters to add all sorts of effects to the videos.
It even features the rather popular Director Mode which allows players to stage certain sequences as they would like by using props, characters and locations from GTA 5.
The blog post doesn’t reveal when the next update for GTA 5 and GTA Online is going to be released but at least PS4 and Xbox One owners now know that they have something to look out for now when the update arrives.
