Microsoft’s Xbox One console was announced a couple of years ago where it was initially priced at $499. This was rather pricey given that Sony’s PlayStation 4 was priced $100, making it a more compelling purchase. That being said, it looks like Microsoft has decided to start selling the console at $499 again.
Now before you get mad, there is a difference. This $499 price tag is for the brand new Xbox One Elite bundle that was just announced by Microsoft. The regular Xbox One console will still be priced at $399 so you can rest easy, but if you got some extra cash and wouldn’t mind the Elite bundle, you can expect to pick it up starting in November.
So what so “Elite” about this bundle, you ask? For starters as you can see, it will come bundled with the Xbox One Elite wireless controller that was announced earlier this year at E3. Given that the controller itself is priced at $149.99, paying an extra $100 for the console and the controller seems like a pretty good deal.
The Xbox One Elite bundle will also feature a new 1TB SSHD drive that according to Microsoft, will allow gamers to boot it up from energy-saving mode 20% faster. Given that this is an SSHD, it basically means that only part of it will be SSD, while the other part is a regular HD, but unfortunately Microsoft did not mention how big the SSD partition is. The bundle is currently available for pre-order via Microsoft’s website.
