Unlike previous refreshes, the latest refresh of the Apple TV is expected to be a rather significant one. We have heard that it will feature a new design, a new remote control that is more advanced, and now according to a new report from TechCrunch, it seems that the Apple TV interface will be getting a major overhaul as well.
According to TechCrunch’s Matthew Panzarino, he goes as far as to claim that the upcoming Apple TV will be the first “real” Apple TV product, whatever that means, but it does seem to suggest that Apple is paying extra attention to the launch. He goes on to claim that by including access to an app store, it will give Apple the leverage they need to get content onto its platform.
Panzarino adds, “If, obviously if, Apple is successful with the Apple TV, it could be in a position to dominate content in a way that no other ‘smart’ TV platform has before it.” We suppose we will just have to wait and see if the Apple TV will live up to these claims, so do check back with us in the coming weeks for the details.
