When Netflix first launched, it basically provided a way for users to stream movies legally on demand. It is a great service but unfortunately it looks like soon, some of your favorite movies will no longer be available via Netflix. This was revealed by Netflix who confirmed that they will not be renewing their deal with Epix.
This means that certain high-profile movies will no longer be available via their service. According to the company, “Meanwhile, we have decided not to renew our agreement in the US with Epix, the cable network, which means that some high profile movies including Hunger Games: Catching Fire, World War Z and Transformers: Age of Extinction, will expire at the end of September in the US. If you want to see them on Netflix US, now is the time.”
The company claims that they are hoping that their original programming will be compelling enough for customers to come on board, and not just movies. These shows include House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, and Daredevil, just to name a few. However at the same time, they have also announced that other movies will be making its way onto their network in the future.
That being said as Netflix has pointed out, if you want to catch some of those high-profile movies before they “expire” on their network, now is the time to do so as you will have about a month left.
