Unlike companies such as Samsung who has a bevy of smartwatches, LG does not have that many smartwatches to their name, with their more recent wearable being the LG Watch Urbane. That being said, there seems to be a good chance we might hear more about a new LG smartwatch come IFA 2015.
This is thanks to the folks at Ausdroid who has recently spotted a mysterious LG smartwatch over at the FCC, hinting that perhaps it is getting close to release which also means that with IFA around the corner, it probably wouldn’t be a stretch to think that the device might be announced then (though this is just speculation on our part).
Now before you think that this is a variant of the Watch Urbane, the shape above shows that it is not. In fact save for the LG G Watch, the rest of LG’s smartwatches are of the circular variety and given that the LG G Watch was launched last year, it is unlikely that LG would want to rehash an “old” device.
According to the FCC filing, it has also revealed that the upcoming device is intended for Verizon’s network. Interestingly enough there is also mention of an audio jack which is odd since it would be uncomfortable to plug a headphone into a smartwatch. In any case hopefully more will be revealed soon, so check back with us later for the details.
