For those, who for some reason, prefer the Moto X Play, you’re in luck. According to a report from Phandroid, it has been rumored that the Moto X Play will make it to the US, except that it will undergo a rebranding and will be known as the Motorola DROID Maxx 2 and it is also expected to be made available from Verizon.
Unfortunately in terms of specs it is unclear if the Verizon version will differ greatly from the original, but chances are it should be more or less the same. For those who missed Motorola’s earlier announcement, the Moto X Play will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor.
It will also be accompanied by 2GB of RAM, 16/32GB of expandable storage, a 3,630mAh battery, a 21MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and will come with your usual connectivity options. According to Phandroid, the DROID Maxx 2 is also rumored to be priced at $300, but unfortunately no word on when it will launch.
