Microsoft Updates OneDrive

The good people over at Microsoft have just updated OneDrive by introducing a couple of new features which will hopefully make the cloud storage service all the more useful when it comes to synchronization and sharing. In the latest update, OneDrive.com will see the inclusion of the “Add to my OneDrive” button that first revealed by the company last week via its UserVoice page. What does this particular feature do? Users will gain the ability to include kind of specific file or folder in their core OneDrive folder that has been set up to synchronize with either the desktop, or for the modern day road warrior, on a mobile app (like on the recently updated Android version or BlackBerry 10 platforms, for example).

Not only that, Microsoft has also opened up the door for one to enjoy collaborating on documents without having to experience painful conflicts (as in, someone overwriting your work elsewhere). This particular functionality is rather exclusive though, as it is only available with the OneDrive apps for Windows 7, Windows 10 and Mac but not for Windows 8.1.

The latest OneDrive update will also bring along with it real-time notifications for all sorts of edits that have been performed in shared documents, which makes life much easier when you want to return to a previous version, or to keep track of what has been modified.
