Are you looking forward to playing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain? If you are, you won’t have to wait much longer because the game has been pegged for a 1st of September release which is next week. However if you’re looking forward to its online PVP mode, which is called Forward Operating Base, it seems that access to the feature will cost you real money.
This is according to a report from GameSpot who during their early review of the game discovered that it would cost players MB Coins to unlock the feature. These coins are used to purchase open water in the game which will then make space available for a PVP-dedicated base, but unfortunately the feature had yet to go live so the price of MB Coins have yet to be determined.
When Konami was asked about the feature and how much it would cost, they replied by saying, “Unfortunately we don’t have any official details to share at the moment regarding the microtransaction model for F.O.B.. We should have more information for you next week though as those details are still being solidified.”
If the idea of having to pay additional money for features that you thought would have been included for free puts you off, then maybe you’ll want to hold off on pre-ordering the game, at least until more details about how much the MB Coins will go for are revealed. In the meantime anyone else a little disappointed by this?
