There is a lot of anticipation among the Halo community for the upcoming title but if fans have been waiting to see what Master Chief looks like they should give up on keeping their fingers crossed because Master Chief’s face is not going to be revealed in Halo 5. His helmet will stay firmly on throughout the story so perhaps the community can now wish for this to happen in another new title that might not arrive for a few years.
Speaking at Microsoft Canada’s X15 event Halo 5 creative director Tim Longo said that throughout the story in Halo 5 Master Chief is going to keep his helmet on, fans who were wishing to get a glimpse of his face are out of luck. “He doesn’t take his helmet off,” Longo said during the event.
Fans got pretty close to seeing the Chief’s face during the “Legendary” ending for Halo 4’s campaign, and they did get to see the boy who became Master Chief in the live-action Halo 4 trailer released back in 2012. They have never seen the Chief’s adult face.
Will Microsoft ever reveal Master Chief’s full face or as a fan would you rather that it didn’t? One thing’s for sure though it’s not happening in Halo 5, which is going to be released for Xbox One on October 27th this year.
