According to a press release from the company, they have announced that the app will be available in pretty much most markets around the world, save for a few specific regions. It is also only available on Android at the moment and it is unclear if or when the company will build an iOS version.
For those unfamiliar, LINE Lite is a smaller version of the full app. The company claims that it “retains LINE’s core features of text, sticker, and image-based communication. Users can sign up for new accounts on LINE Lite, or carry over their existing LINE accounts. While audio and video calls and features such as the Timeline are not included in this initial release, we’ll continue to add new features in the future.”
So if the idea of being able to cut down on the amount of data you use monthly sounds good to you, then head on over to Google Play to get your hands on it. If you see that the app isn’t available for you, chances are you could be part of the “specific regions” that LINE mentioned the would not be available in.
