Line is best known for its cross-platform instant messenger that is used by hundreds of millions of people across the globe, the company has been branching out into other areas like music and what not, it’s latest creation is an app that lets people share their locations with people they want to. Line’s new location sharing application is called Line Here.
People who use the Line instant messaging app can easily share their location in chats with contacts but Line Here is geared more towards those who don’t use the messaging app, Users can sign up on Line Here even if they don’t have a Line ID, all they need is a Facebook account.
Users can create location sharing rooms inside the app which they can share with anyone by sending them a URL over Facebook, SMS or Line. Recipients will have to download the app to view the location which is tracked on a map, there are optional timers for location sharing rooms so users can decide how long they want their location to be visible. There can be up to 200 people in a location sharing room.
Line Here has been released for both Android and iOS, it’s available all across the globe except China and South Korea. The app is available as a free download from the Google Play Store and the App Store.
