The LG G4 is definitely a looker – and also a performer, of course, where the world of flagship smartphones are concerned, but this does not mean that there is no room for improvement, right? It seems that in April earlier this year, when LG first made an announcement of its flagship device, there were two versions available – one with a normal looking plastic back, while the other came with a genuine leather back that definitely has a whole lot more premium feel to it. However, leather is not as durable as some might think, especially on a device like a smartphone. It seems that folks in India now have a third option for the LG G4 – one that comes in a metallic chassis, where it has been described as a “fine hammer-crafted metal body” with either titanium black or gold choices to pick from.
Apart from the metallic back, of course this LG G4 will be similar in all aspects with the plastic version in terms of hardware, so this is only an exterior or cosmetic change. Still, we all know that a slight change on the outside with more premium materials do happen to result in a significant perspective change of the device itself for some, but it remains to be seen whether this approximately $605 handset will sell well with the metallic back. There is no word on whether this metallic model will sell elsewhere outside of India.
