The report claims that an event has been scheduled for that particular week and it will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. This has led to speculation that the event could be related to Apple’s iPhone announcement, and if you’re wondering what is the significance, it is also the same location where Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak first unveiled the Apple II computer.
For those wondering why the event is a week long, basically it ensures that Apple will be able to setup the event in relative privacy, like putting up signboards, banners, and also ensuring that everything works and that there are places where the media who have been invited get to test out the phones, sort of like a demo area.
Of course this is quite a long shot since the venue could have easily been booked by just about anyone, however like we said there is some significance to the event, not to mention Apple typically favors early September announcements, so we wouldn’t be surprised if this venue is where Apple will unveil their next-gen iPhones, but until we hear from Apple, take it with a grain of salt for now.
