Supply Chain “Confirms” iPad Pro Mass Production In September

An earlier report by notable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will be entering into mass production in either September or October, thus getting it primed and ready for a launch later this year during Apple’s annual iPad event. Just in case you were still a tad skeptical, hopefully this will clear things up.

A new report from DigiTimes has revealed that according to their supply chain sources, the iPad Pro will indeed enter into mass production around September as well. Now we can’t be sure if they’re basing this information off on what we’ve heard before, or if they are hearing this first-hand which basically corroborates the earlier report.

DigiTimes adds that Sharp and Foxconn subsidiary GIS will be the primary suppliers of the display technology for the tablet, while other companies such as Samsung and TPK will be secondary suppliers, with Samsung providing LCD assembly while TPK will be responsible or the touch modules.

At the moment the rumors are pointing towards an iPad with a large 12.9-inch display and according to recent data, its resolution has been pegged at 2732×2048, but in the end it adds up to a PPI of 263, giving it the same pixel density as Apple’s other Retina iPads. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us in the coming months for the details.
