As you might have heard, Apple has recently pushed out the iOS 8.4.1 update to its iOS users. The update will come with a host of bug fixes and improvements made to the OS in general, versus adding new features, so we guess in some way it can be avoided if you’d rather not update your device.
Now you might ask who would avoid an update? If you have jailbroken your device using TaiG’s jailbreak, then you might want to avoid it. It has been discovered that if you were to update to iOS 8.4.1, TaiG’s jailbreak will no longer work on your phone. This means that any tweaks or apps you might have had that relied on a jailbroken iOS will stop working as well.
This is thanks to the update that has closed off several vulnerabilities that have allowed the team to jailbreak the operating system in the first place. So like we said, if you enjoy having a jailbroken iOS device, you might want to skip this update. Also like we pointed out, this isn’t a particularly major update so if you aren’t experiencing any bugs or problems, you can choose not to update it.
No word on whether the folks at TaiG will bother releasing a new jailbreak for iOS 8.4.1, but with iOS 9 reportedly around the corner (pegged for a fall release), chances are they might not and will probably release a jailbreak for iOS 9 instead. Either way you have been warned!
