HBO didn’t hesitate for long to embrace the cord-cutting generation, the cable giant has launched a standalone online streaming service which provides live streaming of the linear channel as well as all video on demand content for $15 per month under the HBO Now moniker. Subscribers don’t need to sign any contracts and they can discontinue service whenever they feel like it. HBO is gradually expanding this service with Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick being the next stop for HBO Now.
HBO Now was launched earlier this year and for a couple of months it was exclusive to Apple’s devices only. Once the exclusivity ended HBO Now landed on Android and gained support for Chromecast.
Starting today HBO Now is available for Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick for $15 per month. It provides access to live streaming of the channel as well as the entire library of video on demand content.
Previously the only way to get HBO streaming on any of these devices was to go with Sling TV, which costs $20 per month, and then opt in for the HBO package which costs an additional $15 per month. Sling TV has been available on Fire TV and Fire TV stick for a few months now.
There’s no need for that workaround anymore since HBO Now is officially available on the aforementioned devices starting today.
