Despite the Halo franchise switching hands from Bungie to 343 Industries, the latter has done a pretty good job at keeping the franchise and newer titles fresh and exciting. Now if you’re looking forward to playing Halo 5: Guardians, or if you’re still on the fence, the folks at BuzzFeed News have posted an exclusive look at the Halo 5: Guardians opening cinematic.
Given the cinematic nature of the video, it does not appear to be using footage from the game and it looks pretty good. The video also does a pretty good job at psyching players up for the game and we have a feeling that Guardians will be a pretty well-received title. The trailer also gives us a look at some of the characters in the game, such as a very realistic-looking Nathan Fillion.
Halo 5: Guardians has been pegged for a release on the 27th of October 2015. Unsurprisingly given the nature of previous Halo games, the latest installment in the franchise will be an exclusive to the Microsoft Xbox platform, or to be more specific, Microsoft’s Xbox One (sorry Xbox 360 gamers!).
Microsoft had also previously confirmed that a limited edition Halo 5: Guardians Xbox One console would be available, so if you have yet to make the jump to the next-gen consoles, perhaps this is a bundle you’ll want to keep an eye out for.
