According to a report from Android Police, it looks like Google has updated its search results where if you were to search for app categories, it will display results more beautifully, and to a certain extent it reminds us of how the Google Play Store looks as well. So if you were to search for “cooking apps” or “arcade game apps” or basically broad searches for app categories, you should be greeted by the results show in the screenshot above.
Unfortunately it seems that for now, this particular feature is limited to Android devices, which we suppose makes sense as Google will probably want to prioritize giving its Play Store referrals instead of sending users to the iTunes App Store or Windows Store. The results will display the app’s name, icon, pricing, and even its ratings, so a lot of information should be made available to users at a glance.
We reckon it’s a pretty cool feature although we can’t say when exactly will Google be bringing similar features for iOS or Windows Phone users, if at all.
