So far the improvements Fujifilm has made have been pretty incremental in nature, usually working to fix what users did not like in previous versions. However according to a report from FujiRumors.com, they have received a tip from their source which suggests that this year’s X100T successor could see a pretty huge change in terms of its lens.
The X100 series of cameras have all feature a 23mm f/2.0 lens to date. This basically makes it a 35mm full frame equivalent that makes it great for street photography and to a certain extent, even landscapes. Its f/2.0 aperture also makes it bright enough so that you can snap photos without any blur or noise, so it is unclear how Fujifilm will be able to improve on that.
Perhaps Fujifilm might decide to make it a zoom lens for those who aren’t fans of fixed lenses, or maybe it could go even wider, but this is just speculation for now. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but in the meantime if the rumors are true, what kind of lens would you like to see the new X100 come with?
