Last year in September it was reported that Fossil and Intel had announced a partnership in which both companies would be working on wearables together. It looks like today the fruits of their labor have finally been revealed at IDF 2015 with Fossil taking the wraps off three wearables, all of which are powered by Intel’s technology.
Unfortunately details of the wearables are a bit of a mystery for now as the company did not really dive into the details of the wearables, but they basically consist of a connected bracelet, a connected watch, and a smartwatch that runs on Android Wear. It’s an interesting choice especially when you consider that it was just the other day the company’s CEO stated that what we need are smarter watches.
However like we said, there doesn’t appear to be too much information regarding the specs and features of these wearables, but then again the announcement today is more of a teaser as the official launch of the devices have been targeted for the holiday season, so chances are we will probably learn more about them then.
So far based on what we can see, they don’t appear to be particularly fancy, although the generous use of leather and metal and what seems like the product packaging are very signature Fossil in terms of design, so if you like that rugged look then perhaps these devices are for you.
