Firefox version 40 is out today and the biggest change that it brings is much improved compatibility for Windows 10 even though previous versions of this browser work quite nicely with the latest iteration of Microsoft’s operating system. It brings all of the features that users love to Windows 10 as well as a fresh new look and a way for users to preserve their search engine choice. “Thoughtful tweaks” have been made to Firefox version 40 to give the browser a more streamlined feel.

Mozilla says that it has had a lot of fun building this version of Firefox. The latest version of the Firefox browser features bigger and bolder design elements, and more space for viewing content on the web.

Firefox lets users preserve their choice when using the search field on the Windows 10 taskbar to search the web, using this search field in Windows 10 launches default browser but only displays search results in Bing. When Firefox is set as the default browser on Windows 10 all web searches from taskbar will be displayed in the default search engine selected within Firefox.

To make add-ons a safe and secure experience Mozilla has announced a process to certify add-ons based on the guidelines that it has already provided to developers. In the future third-party add-ons that have not been certified will be disabled by default.

Firefox version 40 is now available for download from here.
