A couple of days ago we were treated to a footage of a fisherman versus a drone, where the fisherman successfully and skillfully managed to hook a drone in mid-air. Now who was wrong in this case is up for debate – was the drone pilot wrong for potentially disturbing these fisherman and invading their privacy, or was the fisherman wrong for vandalizing someone else’s property?
We suppose that’s a debate for another day, but recently footage has surfaced in which we catch a glimpse of a drone versus nature, or to be more specific, an eagle. While eagles are majestic creatures flying in the sky, this drone pilot has gotten footage of an eagle essentially rushing towards his drone and attacking it while in the sky.
According to the description of the video, “Eagle was fine — she was massive, and used talon’s to ‘punch’ the drone out of the sky. Hung around overhead so I got a really good look. Eagle’s health was my main concern also.” The pilot later adds a warning to other drone users out there, especially when flying it near birds of prey.
“Do not fly drones near birds of prey, they clearly attack seeing you as a threat or the right sized dinner. This will cost you money and potentially harm to the bird. This one was fine … the drone needed some attention before it could fly again.” So as it turns out, drones have the potential of annoying both humans and animals.
