With Blizzard announcing that upcoming Heroes of the Storm maps will be Diablo-themed, we suppose it doesn’t really come as a surprise that they are taking the opportunity to cross promote both games, so if you haven’t played Heroes of the Storm or Diablo 3, maybe now might be a good time to do so.
According to Blizzard, they have announced that players who own a copy of Diablo 3 will receive the Diablo character in Heroes of the Storm for free. This is a pretty good offer especially when you consider that purchasing characters on Heroes of the Storm can be pretty expensive.
However this offer will only last until the 8th of September 10AM PDT, and all you’d have to do is log into Heroes of the Storm and you will be able to claim the Diablo character for free. As for Diablo players, if you were to get to level 12 in Heroes of the Storm, you will be able to unlock a unique pennant and a portrait frame for your account.
It’s interesting that there is so much Diablo focus. Granted this might be due to the Diablo-themed maps, but we have to wonder if getting players to hop back into Diablo or buy Diablo 3 might have something to do with a rumored Diablo 3 expansion that is supposed to make its debut at BlizzCon 2015 in November this year.
