So a couple of days ago Sony took the wraps off a Darth Vader themed PlayStation 4. If you haven’t seen it already, you should as it does look pretty awesome. It will also come with a redesigned DualShock 4 controller that has a sleek black finish, along with red and grey buttons which helps complete the look.
Now if you already have a PS4 and you’re thinking if you could just buy the controllers separately, you are in for some disappointment. Some gamers have commented on Sony’s blog post about the new console and have asked if the controller would be sold separately. However according to Sony’s Sid Shuman, that will not be happening.
In a response to one of the questions, Shuman was quoted as saying that there are no plans at the moment to sell it separately. However it does sound like maybe at some point Sony will decide that they will, but for now that does not appear to be the case. That being said, the games that are bundled with the console will be sold separately.
This includes Super Star Wars, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter and Star Wars: Jedi StarFighter in which Shuman said, “Yes – you’ll be able to buy the four games separately on PS Store. They’ll have Trophy support, too!” In the meantime pricing and availability of pre-orders for the bundle have yet to be determined.
