Back in May this year Comcast launched its livestreaming app, it was a limited release at that time which only provided the app to select subscribers. With the limited release having gone off quite nicely Comcast has now decided to open this app to all of its subscribers in the country. The Xfinity Share app from Comcast allows subscribers to broadcast photos, video streams as well as previously recorded videos from their mobile device to their TVs as well as to TVs of other subscribers.
Xfinity Share can also be used to broadcast content from one mobile device to another, so it can prove to be pretty useful and convenient.
Previously Comcast only provided this app to its Triple Play package customers but that’s no longer the case because all Comcast subscribers can now use the Xfinity Share app to broadcast content across supported platforms.
There is one caveat though, the recipient of that broadcast must have an X1 DVR-ready set-top box otherwise they will not be able to view the broadcast.
Xfinity Share app is now available for download through the App Store and the Google Play Store, keep in mind though that you need to be a Comcast subscriber in order to take advantage of its features.
