Content from the cable provider would hail from partners such as Vox and VICE, and chances are this is but a glimpse into why Comcast/NBC Universal forked out a whopping $200 million in order to invest in digital news company Vox Media. Chances are Comcast is set to roll out a video service that they call “Watchable”, where it will boast of videos from popular websites such as VICE Media and Vox.
Watchable is tipped to be made available via Comcast’s X1 set-top box, where it will also boast of mobile apps for iOS and Android, targeting those who would like to get entertained while they are on the move, now how about that? With their 10Gbps broadband trial ready to kick off later this year, interesting times are definitely ahead for Comcast.
