One of these remakes is Resident Evil 2 Reborn, a fan project that has been in the works for several years now. In fact it was also meant to be launched later this summer, but unfortunately it looks like Capcom has decided to put an end to it. According to its creators, “Capcom called us up in advance of the announcement and asked us if we would mind stopping the project as they had longer term plans for a Resident Evil 2 Remake.”
However instead of being upset that years of work had essentially been flushed down the drain, the team, Invader Games, are actually pretty chill about it. “Contrary to what might be thought, this is wonderful news for us and, as fans, we’re so happy that Capcom has decided to take the lead of the project and to develop the remake awaited for years by everybody (nobody could bring back to life the masterpiece of 1998 better than the creators themselves).”
They also mentioned that Capcom has invited the team to talk to them about further ideas which we have to admit is pretty good of them. We suppose given the official Resident Evil 2 Remake having been announced, it does make sense that Capcom would not want any conflicts in terms of content.
