Now Blizzard’s interest in the eSports scene isn’t a secret. The company’s StarCraft and StarCraft 2 titles are considered to be some of the staples in the competitive eSports scene, but it sounds as if with “Compete”, Blizzard wants to take things to the next level, perhaps even create something like Valve’s The International tournament of their own.
In the past Blizzard has mentioned possibilities of games such as World of Warcraft as being in the eSport scene where we could watch competitive raids or Arena matches, and let’s not forget Blizzard’s Heroes of the Storm which at the moment has a competition going on. Of course this is all speculation but hopefully we will learn more about the system at BlizzCon 2015 which is at the end of the year.
