From what we can tell of the upcoming BlackBerry Venice, it is expected to run on Android. However if you’re a huge fan of BlackBerry OS 10 and its features and don’t want to give that up for Android, you might not have to, at least not entirely. According to a new leak by @evleaks, it has been hinted that the BlackBerry Venice could have BB10-like features.
@evleaks has uploaded a new GIF animation and in that animation, it shows off alleged features that will be making its way onto the phone. This includes the BlackBerry Experience Suite, BlackBerry Hub, unified contacts, calendars, custom apps, and let’s not forget BBM as well.
Like we said this seems to suggest that the handset could feature BB10-like themes, although the extent of BB10’s presence in the phone can’t be determined just yet. It is possible that BlackBerry might have modified Android to incorporate these features, and also to make it more secure which is something BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen mentioned before.
This seems to line up with an earlier leak which have images that suggested that it would have a lot of BlackBerry features while running on Android. If that is the case, it ought to make for an interesting handset. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but last we heard the phone has been pegged for a release in November on all four major US carriers.
