If you haven’t been particularly happy about your American Express corporate card not working with Apple Pay then there’s some very good news for you today, Apple Pay now officially supports AMEX corporate cards. The payments service can now cater to a broad range of enterprise users that want to use their AMEX corporate cards to pay for purchases.
Now that Apple Pay supports these cards employees from the enterprise sector can also get in on the mobile payments fun using their iPhone or Apple Watch. Apple Pay already has support for American Express OPEN small business cards, support for these cards was added last year.
Supported corporate cards now include: American Express Corporate Green Card, American Express Corporate Gold Card, American Express Corporate Platinum Card, American Express Corporate Centurion Card, American Express/Business Extra Corporate Card, and the American Express Corporate Defined Expense Program Corporate Card.
Opening the payments service to more customers will enable the company to boost adoption of its relatively new mobile payments service as it gears up to come under pressure from the likes of Samsung Pay and Google Pay which may be formally launched later this year. A recent report suggested that 42 percent of iPhone owners in the country have already used this payment service.
