T-Mobile has been courted by multiple suitors but so far an acquisition bid hasn’t gone through, AT&T tried back in 2011 and failed. Sprint was interesting in pick up Magenta recently but that didn’t happen as well. Wall Street analysts are now looking at other potential suitors for the country’s third largest mobile carrier and Tim Horan, an analyst over at Oppenheimer, predicts that T-Mobile might be acquired by Comcast.
Horan is predicting that it might be Comcast that acquires T-Mobile or perhaps even Charter Communications, Oppenheimer seems Comcast linking up with T-Mobile and joining Verizon, AT&T and Sprint to complete the list of four top national carriers.
He predicts that Comcast is most likely to consider acquiring T-Mobile, particularly following a report from German publication Manager Magazin this June which claimed that T-Mobile US parent company Deutsche Telekom is in talks with Comcast about a possible deal.
The analyst believes that if a deal is not reached between Comcast and T-Mobile then Charter is the best possible bet, he doesn’t see Dish acquiring T-Mobile, giving the possibility a mere 10 percent chance of actually happening.
Keep in mind that this is merely an analyst prediction at this point in time, there’s no evidence that confirms the mentioned companies are even talking about such a deal. T-Mobile, Comcast and Charter have not even commented about this prediction.
