It has long been rumored that this year Google is going to release two new Nexus handsets that it has developed in collaboration with Huawei and LG. Google has worked with LG in the past on Nexus smartphones but it would be the first time that Chinese manufacturer Huawei will be tapped to build a Nexus handset. Several pictures of the purported Huawei Nexus were leaked earlier today and now additional images have been leaked online.
While the previous batch of pictures give us a good glimpse at the actual design of the device these pictures show the handset in a protective case which is why no major design cues are immediately visible.
However there’s one thing that can easily be made out even though the phone is inside a protective cover and that’s the USB Type-C port at the bottom, if these pictures are anything to go by then the Nexus smartphone from Huawei definitely comes with a USB Type-C port.
The bootloader image mentions 64GB of onboard storage as well as MSM8994 processor under the hood, which is the model number for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, the processor that will forever have the overheating stigma attached to it.
No official confirmation has come in as yet from either Google or Huawei that these images really do show one of the two new Nexus handsets, so take this with a grain of salt for now.
