Acer is bringing two new mid-range Android smartphones to the United States, both the Liquid Jade Z and Liquid Z410 feature 4G LTE connectivity and 64-bit processors. The Liquid Jade Z will be available for purchase immediately while Acer will begin selling the Liquid Z410 starting next month. Both devices offer respectable specifications at a competitive price point and are a good addition to the mid-range smartphone market.
Acer Liquid Jade Z features a 5 inch IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 for added protection against drops and scratches, there’s a 64-bit 1.5GHz quadcore processor under the hood, a 13 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera, HD speakers as well as a 2,300mAh battery for $229. A variant that costs $249 and brings 2GB RAM and 16GB storage will also be available.
Then there’s the entry-level Liquid Z410 that has a 4.5 inch FWVGA display, 64-bit 1.3GHz quadcore processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB memory, 5 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front camera, 2,000mAh battery for $129.
Customers who would like more RAM and onboard storage can go with the $149 Liquid Z410 which features 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage, as previously mentioned this device goes on sale next month.
Don’t expect much in the way of latest software though as both devices are powered by Android 4.4 KitKat.
