Last month according to the rumors, it was suggested that the Wii U exclusive ZombiU could be losing its exclusivity and making its way onto consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One. This was later “proven” when the game made an appearance on the Australian Classification Board, and in case that wasn’t evidence enough, it has recently made an appearance on Taiwan’s own Game Software Rating Regulations board as well.
The game’s title on the board was written as “Zombi”, without the U, which once again seems to “confirm” that the game would be making its way onto other consoles. Ubisoft has yet to confirm that the game would be ported to other consoles, but given all that we’ve seen so far, it really does seem to suggest that, unless of course it is a coincidence that there is another game called Zombi.
The game was originally announced back in 2012 and was heralded as one of the games that would take advantage of the Wii U’s hardware and features the best. It relied on the GamePad with some of its in-game features, acting like a secondary display for players to check their inventory, weapons, and whatnot.
However Ubisoft later revealed that there were no plans to make a sequel to ZombiU due to a lack of profitability of the game. Now that it is possible that the game will be launched on newer consoles, we have to wonder if the success on those platforms might prompt a sequel, but we guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
