Back in 2014, Carl Zeiss announced that they would be entering the virtual reality market with the launch of the ZEISS VR One headset. Basically the headset functions similarly to the Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard where the headset acts more as a holder for your smartphone, with your smartphone and an accompanying app giving you the VR experience.
That being said, the company has recently announced that they will be creating a tray designed to fit the Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone. Prior to this, Carl Zeiss claimed that the head would fit smartphones from 4.7-inches up to 5.2-inches, but we guess due to phones being built and shaped differently, there could be some fitting issues.
So with the release of the Galaxy S6 tray, Galaxy S6 owners should be able to fit their phones into the device precisely and not worry about it being too tight or too loose. For those interested in getting their hands on the tray, it is now available via the VR One’s website where it is priced at $9.90.
There are other trays listed, such as those for the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the iPhone 6. If you don’t have the VR One headset, it is also available for purchase via its website where it is priced at $120 without a tray, and $129 which will include one tray.
