A couple of days ago it appeared that thanks to a leak, the Sony Xperia Z4v’s launch date on Verizon was set for the 13th of August. This meant that we only had a little over a month before we got our hands on Sony’s next-gen flagship. However as it turns out, that was the wrong date. This has since been refuted by Sony’s PR agency.
According to a report from 9to5Google, they received an email from Burson-Marstellar who is Sony’s PR agency of record in North America. The rep explained that the date that was published on the microsite was not accurate and that to date, there is not set release date for the Sony Xperia Z4v just yet.
We’re not sure why there is still no concrete release date, but for now it looks like you can cancel the 13th of August. As a quick recap for those who are hearing about this for the first time, the Sony Xperia Z4v was actually announced back in June. It is a Sony Xperia handset that will be exclusive to Verizon.
It is also Sony’s most powerful handset to date. It will sport a 5.2-inch QHD display and will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset in place. There will be 3GB of RAM accompanying the phone along with a 20.7MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, a 3,000mAh battery, and will also support wireless charging.
