With MMORPGs like World of Warcraft, players can choose to do pretty much whatever they want. They can choose to do PvE content like tackle raids and instances, they can role play, they can make gold via the auction houses, or they can engage in PvP across battlegrounds, arenas, or even open world.
Now if you’re a PvP player in World of Warcraft, you might be interested to learn that in an upcoming patch Blizzard has planned, a new PvP feature will be added to the game called Mercenary Mode. PvP for the most part usually involves players fighter players of the opposing faction.
However in Mercenary Mode, players will have the option of fighting for the opposite team, kind of like a mercenary where your loyalties basically lie with whoever can pay you the most, although in World of Warcraft’s case, there won’t be any differences except that you might experience shorter queue times and matchmaking.
If you’re wondering why bother then? In some cases there are some servers (or cluster of servers) in which one faction seems to have better PvP players than the other, so if you hate losing in the battlegrounds all the time, then Mercenary Mode might be the answer to your problems, but what say you?
