It has been about a couple of days since Windows 10 was officially released, and so we’re sure many are wondering how is the operating system faring so far? As it turns out Microsoft’s Windows 10 platform is doing pretty well. According to a report from WinBeta, it seems that the install count has hit 10 million.
This is mighty impressive given that it has only been a couple of days. Not to mention it also puts Windows 8’s 4 million install count over the launch weekend to shame. However we should note that this number has yet to be officially acknowledged by Microsoft as it was told to WinBeta from their sources, so take it with a grain of salt for now.
That being said, the interest in Windows 10 doesn’t come as a surprise given that not many were happy with how Windows 8 turned out. While Windows 8.1 did address some issues, overall it wasn’t exactly the most popular Windows operating system around. It also helps that Windows 10 is a free upgrade for those who have installed genuine copies for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
In any case hopefully we will get the official figures from Microsoft soon, but in the meantime if you’re still waiting for your turn to get upgraded to Windows 10, you can actually force the update if you’re so inclined, or you can just wait for a few days before it is ultimately your turn.
