If the rumors are to be believed, the Warcraft movie trailer could be shown off at the San Diego Comic-Con this weekend. While that in itself is exciting, what’s even more exciting for fans of the Warcraft franchise is that the movie could end up being a trilogy if director Duncan Jones had his way.
This is thanks to the folks at io9 who recently managed to catch up with Jones during Comic-Con. According to Jones, he revealed that the movie is more or less complete with about 10 VFX shots away from completion. Jones appears to be pretty confident about the state of the movie, so much so that he would love it if he could come back and direct additional sequels.
Of course this isn’t a confirmation that there will be sequels, it’s just that if there were, the movies might have found their director already. Then again this is all depending on how well the actual movie performs, and given how video games that are turned into movies usually end up, safe to say that fans are hoping that the Warcraft movie will break the cycle.
The movie is currently pegged for a release on the 10th of June 2016 and in the meantime, Legendary has released a teaser trailer of the movie which gives players a glimpse at the world of Azeroth in virtual reality.
